I need a web hosting provider for a new ecommerce web site I started. I might want a dedicated server or a reseller account, but shared might work too. I’m starting up a new site that will feature some of my artwork and I want people to be able to buy posters.

I need a free website hosting site that supports ASP.NET (2.0) websites/applications.
I found one, but my site uses MS SQL, and that site won’t allow that in their free package. I’m either looking for a site that does, or I have a different question:
I’ve created a site in Visual Studio 2005 using the template it came with to base my site on. It uses MS SQL; is there any way to remove that dependency, or use an access database, or something? Even if someone could tell me what the database does, it would be very helpful.

I’ve managed to write a simple program that simply adds a textbox and a button to the start menu. I’ve done this using a combination of C# with Windows.Forms controls, and Win32 API like SetParent and FindWindow. The controls work absolutely fine, however, I am unsure as to whether this method of using Managed code to extend the Windows shell directly, and having the start menu host .NET controls could be troublesome for whatever reason. This was a quick program I wrote to find out if it was possible, but if I were to develop such an application, I would like to know if it would be safer to create controls using Win32 API?

If I can get this to work, I may be able to create some kind of ‘Start Search’ for Windows XP…

I’m looking for a trusted web hosted company that offers free webhosting with FTP support, MYSQL, PHP. cpanel would be nice but not entirely necessary.

I know of heliohost, but there are errors right now.. I have an account with x10hosting but they lied to me about the MYSQL database.

I don’t care if they put ads on my webpages, either. As long as they are not pop-ups.

I’ve been to the freewebhosting review site, but I don’t really like it.

I purchased a domain name (e.g. www.mydomain.com) from one of those “get a domain for $1.99″ deals a year ago, now the renewal fee for it is $50 (for one additional year). Aren’t there cheaper options that I can explore BEFORE my year is up on the $1.99 deal? I’d like to retain the domain name, as I’m hopefully planning to use it for a website at the end of the year. How can I keep my domain name, how would I transfer elsewhere, and how much should it cost, since I don’t have any hosting for it at this point?

Which web hosting company do you recommend in terms of performance and uptime of PHP/MySQL sites?

Please do not recommend a company with which you only have experience in HTML sites as most hosts can run these reliably.

The most demand is placed on the host when using database driven sites so please only recommend companies if you have used their service in this manner.

I am trying to install AntiVir anti-virus software on my Linpus linux.
I noticed that I have to install Dazuko, but it shows the following message.

It is saying my kernel source is not found. I am using the Linpus Linux 9.4, and the kernel version should be 2.6.20.61p.

Can anyone tell me what I can to install the kernel source code in this case?

Please, I really want to fix this problem.
